We hope this letter finds you well. As we approach the summer months, we are excited

to announce our BEST Leadership Summer Camp tailored specifically for students

eager to embark on a transformative journey of growth, learning, and fun. This summer

camp is hosted by Living Grace Church and the Woods Community Development

Corporation located at 20100 Lakewood Ave, Lynwood, IL.

Our camp is designed to foster Social Emotional Learning (SEL), enhance sports and

physical activities, and provide a unique opportunity for a week-long STEM experience

at DePaul University. We believe that these core components are essential in shaping

well-rounded individuals who are equipped with the skills and knowledge to succeed in

today's rapidly evolving world.

Why Choose BEST Leadership Summer Camp?

 

1. Social Emotional Learning (SEL)

Our camp focuses on SEL to help students develop essential life skills such as

self-awareness, self-management, empathy, and effective communication. Through

interactive workshops, group discussions, and hands-on activities, students will learn

how to navigate their emotions, build healthy relationships, and make responsible decisions.

 

2. Sports and Activities

Physical fitness and teamwork are integral parts of personal development. Our camp

offers a variety of sports and recreational activities that not only promote physical

health but also teach valuable lessons in teamwork, leadership, and perseverance.

Whether your child is a budding athlete or trying a new sport for the first time, our

experienced coaches and instructors will provide a supportive and encouraging

environment for them to thrive.

3. STEM Camp at DePaul University

We are thrilled to partner with DePaul University to offer a week-long STEM camp where

students will have the opportunity to explore the exciting world of science, technology,

engineering, and mathematics on a college campus. Under the guidance of DePaul's

staff and industry experts, students will engage in hands-on experiments, innovative

projects, and interactive workshops that will ignite their curiosity and passion for STEM subjects.

 

4. Community Service and Servant Leadership

At BEST Leadership Summer Camp, we believe in the power of community and the

importance of giving back. Students will participate in community service projects and

volunteer at our local food pantries, providing them with opportunities to develop

servant leadership skills, empathy, and a sense of social responsibility. These

experiences will not only enrich their personal growth but also foster a deeper

understanding of the impact they can have on their communities and the world around them.

Duration: July 8-August 1 (Monday-Thursday)

Time: 10 AM-2 PM

Location: Living Grace Church | 20100 Lakewood Ave | Lynwood, IL

Age Group: Incoming 6th-8th graders
